Eurosense – Servicing your Car with an eco friendly and energy efficient attitude

Traditionally, repair shops and automotive maintenance businesses are not considered the cleanest or most environmentally friendly environments. At EuroSense we consider ourselves the outlier. Our facility and standard operating procedures are focused on being environmentally conscious, with taking the most ethical steps to make sure our footprint is with the future in mind.

Motor Oil Management

We carry most common oils in house and purchase them by the barrel, meaning we reduce the waste of all those smaller containers that you might find at your local auto parts stores. Once emptied these are returned, recycled, or re-used. As a company based out of New England, we are subject to some harsh winters, and we make use of our used oil with our waste oil heater to make sure our employees and your car are warm during storage and service. 

Clean-up Resources

Most shops will use speedy-dry or a similar chemical to clean up spills. If you are unfamiliar this product acts like a cat-litter to absorb fluids which can then be swept up. Here at EuroSense, we use no such chemicals as it creates more toxic waste and can be harmful to the environment and our employees. We utilize absorbent pads, which can be more economically recycled. To add to this, we do not waste any of our fabric rags or towels such as some shops; we make sure our fabrics are professionally cleaned, and returned to be reused. 

Facility Amenities

Alongside our mentioned waste oil heater, our facility is equipped with a number of appliances implemented to reduce waste and conserve energy. Eurosense is housed in a large facility, and while not noticeable from the street, our roof is covered with solar panels generating a majority of our facility’s power with the generous sunlight our building receives. We have made the most out of this by equipping our shop with full LED lighting, which has a longer life, uses less power, and is environmentally friendly. 

Tools & Disposal

Beyond recycling our cardboards and plastics, we make sure any scrap metals end up at the right place, no reason that they should rust when they can be reused or repurposed for a new life. When available we purchase all our cleaners and fluids in large quantities and refill our tools here. Aerosols are horrible for the atmosphere, and traditionally come in small pressurized cans. Our mechanics each have their own can which we fill and pressurize in house, meaning less waste and less materials being shipped to us. We also utilize eco-friendly alternatives for service; for example we perform carbon cleaning services with a walnut blaster where other shops will use aggressive chemicals to remove built up carbon. Not only is this more efficient, but it also is healthier for the world around us. 

Plans for the Future

We are always growing and changing, to do our part to preserve the environment. Alongside constant improvements and implementation, we are actively preparing to install electronic charging ports for EV vehicles. As the world around us changes we need to change with it and here at EuroSense it is constantly on our mind to redesign how we can be better on our part.
